International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)

IFTA is a multi-jurisdictional fuel tax agreement among member jurisdictions to simplify the reporting of fuel taxes by commercial inter-jurisdictional carriers. Only one IFTA license per carrier and one set of decals per trucks are required. Neither credential is vehicle specific. 

The carrier's base jurisdiction issues credentials that allow the IFTA licensee to travel in all IFTA jurisdictions.

The minimum registered gross vehicle weight (GVW) requirement to register under IFTA is 11797 Kilograms or a unit with 3 or more axles regardless of weight.
